Insight to Impact Consulting Ltd offers governance and clerking support for Schools and Academies. This is an exciting time in the development of our clerking services, and we are seeking Governance and Clerking Associates to join our growing team, and support schools in the Northwest to ensure that effective governance contributes to the best education for children.

 

We are looking for dynamic, flexible individuals with great organisation skills and proven administrative experience to join our company as an Associate Governance Professional. You will play a vital role in supporting governing boards to govern effectively. 

 

A motivated self-starter, you will be able to work under your own initiative, manage deadlines, and keep accurate records. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is essential. 

 

Our Associates are home-based (although travel to schools is essential) and are term time only.  Our opportunities are flexible, and our Associates will be able to take on as much or as little as they prefer. Governing Board meetings are usually afternoons and early evening.

 

Previous minute taking experience is essential, and knowledge or experience of School/Academy governance is highly preferable. Transferable skills are welcomed from other governance sectors.

 

Duties include

  • Electronic preparation, production and distribution of the agenda and minutes for each meeting

  • Attendance at meetings* and note taking;

  • Timely accurate preparation of minutes - supplied to the chair within 14 days of the meeting - following Quality Assurance

  • Undertaking admin requirements as assigned to the clerk at meetings

  • Providing advice and guidance at meetings on changes in legislation, policy and governance issues.

  • Maintaining a record of membership, attendance, and declarations of interest

 

*Please note meetings can be a mix of face to face or Zoom.  Associates must be able to travel, and use Zoom or other online video conferencing facilities.

 

All Associates must have own transport, means of writing minutes (laptop/shorthand etc) and internet access. Must be computer literate with excellent communication skills. Associates will be highly organised and motivated to keep to deadlines and be prepared to offer procedural advice to governors/trustees when needed. Applicants should have an understanding of school governance/education. 

 

Our Associates are required to undertake ongoing training (provided by Insight to Impact Consulting), and must have excellent inter-personal skills and be reliable. 

 

Associates are not employees of Insight to Impact Consulting and will be responsible for their own tax and NI.  Our Associates are also required to hold their own BusinessInsurance
